Bell bike helmets started nearly 50 years ago in the suburb of Los Angles, California as a small auto parts store and then started a pioneering role in developing motorcycle and bicycle helmets. Since then, more world champions have worn Bell helmets, including Indy 500 champs and Olympic cyclists. Bell is also responsible for the first Pro line of helmet that was developed specifically for bicycle racing in 1983. It was so successful that the initial shipment to dealers sold out in just 14 days. The same year they became the official helmet supplier to the US Cycling team. Just two years later Bell celebrated their one-millionth bike helmet. In 2001 Bell received the highest hone from the National SAFE KIDS Campaign, the Champion Award.

While the SAFE KIDS Campaign continues today, Bell helped pioneer the start of it in the early 1990's with their forward thinking and innovative designs.
